Water, water, water EVERYWHERE!

“Where’s my water? I need my water!” This is what I constantly repeat all day, every day. (out load!). I do not know where to even begin with how GREAT water is for you. It sure will do a body good ;). Water flushes out your body. I literally only drink 3 beverages now; water, iced or hot green tea and wine (hehe). But I always have water right next to me while I’m drinking tea or having a glass of wine. It is almost like I cannot be without water because I crave it when I do not have it. I will admit that it took me awhile to get into the swing of drinking water so frequently. For some reason I started drinking water literally all day, about 8 months ago and I have not stopped. It started when I woke up in the morning and I realized the difference in my mood and movement water made. It did take me awhile (a few weeks) to get used to drinking water as soon as I woke up and to get into the habit of doing so. Experts say that it takes 21 days to form a habit. I have been going for 8 months strong and I am so, so proud of myself!

If you want healthy skin, good hair, good health. You name it! Water will do just that for you. Now I am talking water in its natural state because while there is water in just about all that we eat AND drink, water by itself, in its natural state is the BEST for you. If I tell you how much water I drink daily, you would be shocked and amazed (but maybe not). I have a 32 oz., water bottle that I keep with me all day and I can easily go through 5 or 6 of them a day! Which means the more water you drink, the more you will be answering the call from nature, which is fine, it’s natural ;)! The first thing I have when I wake up is water and the last thing I have before bed is water. Rumor has it that drinking water first thing in the morning is the best because it “wakes up” your organs and gives you a little kick start to your day and begins the hydrating process for the day. Believe it or not, our bodies are made up of mostly water so we are constantly in need of the natural medicine for most ailments. 

When I know ahead of time that I will doing yoga (hot yoga), running or just hitting the gym, I up my water intake. I can honestly feel the difference in me when I do not drink water like I should because I am human and I do not always obey the Water Gods (hehe). I feel dehydrated and I have a huge headache and just feel “off”. But the minute I start drinking and chugging water I instantly feel better. I have almost weened myself off of medicine that I take when I have headaches (Excedrin Migraine or regular Excedrin) and have replaced my “headache medication” with water and boy does it work wonders! I had a migraine one day and I really wanted to take Excedrin because it knocks the pain right out but then I decided to try a new method and I just started drinking water and within the hour or so, my migraine was completely gone. I was amazed and I have been trying that method more recently. 

I am in awe daily of what water does for the body and how much it can aide in a lot things. It even helps you sleep, taking a nice shower or bath before bed is good for you, it relaxes you. I have my bedtime music set to the “Water Soothing” station on Pandora and It completely relaxes me and before you know it my alarm to wake up the next morning is going off. 

If you are the person that is not really into drinking water all of the time, that is okay too, it takes time to form new habits. And if you are the person that cannot do a day without drinking water constantly, keep up the good work!

P.S. It is has been scientifically proven that living close to a body of water is good for you as well. So get to your nearest beach ASAP ;)!
