Homemade Turkey Burgers and Seafood Pasta Salad

Colder nights call for comfort food and also food that reminds you of warmer days ahead. I like to have “summer” food in the colder months because I just cannot let Summer go completely! We will forever be connected 🙂 I fell in love with turkey burgers in high school. But I wasn’t introduced to the idea of homemade turkey burgers until I moved out on my own at 24. When you’re not living with your parents anymore, you experiment a ton in kitchen and you find out what you actually can make and what you really cannot make. But hey a girl has got to eat! I love ground turkey! I rarely eat ground beef anymore. For my taco and meatballs, I use ground turkey and I honestly do not how I have survived this long without ground turkey in my life. Again, you learn a lot when you’re not living with your parents anymore ;)!

Homemade Turkey Burgers

1 lb ground lean turkey
Pinch of salt & pepper
Sprinkle of garlic powder
1 egg

Seafood Pasta Salad

1 box pasta (any kind — your preference!)
1 package imitation crab meat or real crab meat, if you prefer!
1 tbsp low fat or olive oil mayo (add more if you’d like)
1 can tuna (if you prefer)
Pinch of salt & pepper

Preparation:

1. Preheat oven to 350 and boil water for pasta.

2. Combine ground turkey, pinch of salt & pepper, sprinkle of garlic powder and 1 egg. Make even patties, it makes about 10 – 12 patties but you can make them as small or as big as you wish!

3. Line baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray with cooking spray or olive oil and place patties on foil. Sprinkle olive oil over patties as well.

4. Put patties in oven and bake for about 15 – 20 minutes (temperature and time depends on your oven).

5. Take patties out and dress as you wish! Putting cheese on hot patties immediately is the BEST!

6. Put pasta into boiling water. Boil until done.

7. Put pasta in bowl. Mix crab meat, tuna, mayo, pinch of salt & pepper.

8. Put pasta salad in fridge for a few hours. You could even put in fridge overnight and make the burgers the next day but it’s up to you!
