They say to throw your problems in a pile with everyone else’s and the minute to see what others are dealing with you quickly snatch your problems back. We all have problems because not one human being is perfect. Our biggest flaw is that we are human. I like to start my mornings with a grateful heart. Before the craziness of the world rushes in, I need to remind myself how grateful I am for everything in my life. I was recently introduced to the idea of keeping a Gratitude Journal and that is just what I started about 4 weeks ago. I wake up every morning and write 3 things that I have grateful for in the Present, 3 things that I have grateful for in the Future and 3 Affirmations.
Seeing the things that I am grateful for in writing helps me to really focus on how grateful I am for EVERYTHING in my life. I am only human and do complain sometimes but that is when I look at what I have written and my mind if refocused to think about the positive in life. Our minds essentially control us. As the saying goes, “Your body knows no limits, it’s your mind that needs convincing”. We can essentially train our minds to think only positive thoughts and only see the good in everything. We don’t we? Because it’s society that feeds us negativity daily, on everything. If you don’t look or sound a certain way, a certain group of people won’t accept you. If you don’t have a certain career, you’re worthless, according to society. Well I am here to tell you that society is a lie and that YOU ARE ENOUGH. We were made to be happy and grateful, every.single.day.
You will never make everyone happy, so long as you’re happy, nothing else matters. “You can be the ripest, juiciest peach in the world and there’s still going to be somebody that hates peaches”.
Be grateful. Always. <3.
